December blooms

I was filling the bird feeders yesterday, and came across my flowering quince, which apparently thinks it's spring.

The heather is heading into summer, I think --blooming more than before!

We woke up this morning to a light dusting of snow, and temps in the low 20's. Maybe that will send these two plants into dormancy!

  1. Wow, that is something to see the quince flowering. Mine is growing nothing but feathers these days--it's a favorite roosting spot for the sparrows. Still no snow here, but I don't mind if it waits till Christmas to appear.

  2. We did have a fairly mild November, but I was really surprised by that quince! I just hope it still has enough buds for spring :-)
