Still More Season

Really, it's still winter. I wish we could speed through winter, like you can a book.

The following photo is another attempt at appreciation. It's a lousy photo, because it was shot through a thick window, but it does showcase the view I see from the hallway outside my office. The entire hallway is glass, and faces the creek that runs through campus. It's a gorgeous view, even when the creek is frozen, as it is now. Much prettier than the photo indicates.
So it's still winter, but we're not in the midst of a polar vortex, and we're not digging out from 30 inches of snow. That's something worth appreciating.

The Season

I'm trying to appreciate this season of cold and snow. It's not easy, but I'm making a conscious effort. With respect to that effort, here is one of our boxwood bushes with snow. I don't actually think the boxwood appreciates the snow and 5 degree highs anymore than I do, but neither of us has a choice at the moment.
In other unimportant news, I haven't been able to use a Keurig coffee machine since a friend of mine posted an article on FB about all the bacteria that grow in them. I started using my normal pour-over, but it makes very uninspiring coffee. Finally I ordered an Aeropress (~$25), which is a little bit like a French press (I think, I've never used a French press). Wow. Such intense coffee flavor, and no more effort than the pour-over. I love it.

Hot coffee is helpful when you're trying to appreciate 5 degrees.
