Self-seeding

I found this impatiens flower in the lawn. I'm not sure where it came from, but it's kind of cute. Of course, it didn't start blooming until late September. It is surrounded by walnut leaves, and that's a walnut up in the top left of the photo.

  1. Surprises like these always have me puzzled, too. Maybe a piece of impatiens fell out of a pot you were moving?

  2. Inpatiens self seed for me, every year in the really good soil in the front bed. In the south, they were almost invasive, I had to keep on top of pulling them out!
    I think it indicates good soil!
